Jay's Bio
Jay StrausserREALTOR®In Tune with Your Real Estate Needs
Jay Strausser joined Lang Associates as a Sales Professional in 2004. He brings to Lang over twenty years of experience working in many facets of the local Vermont music scene.
Jay came to Burlington in 1976 to attend the University of Vermont. He brought with him a passion for music and radio. While in college, Jay started a radio show on the University’s own, WRUV FM. “Trenchtown Rock” aired Friday nights for nearly fifteen years. In addition to working on WRUV, Jay spent time as an on air DJ at two other local radio stations, WNCS and WIZN.
Upon graduation from UVM in 1980 Jay took a job working at Pure Pop Records, a local used record store. It wasn’t long after he started working there that he became a partner in the business and assumed the responsibilities of running the store. In the early 80’s Jay formed a partnership with Jimmy Swift to open All Points Booking. For over twenty years, All Points Booking provided Vermonters with many great musical events both large and small. After buying out Swift in the early 90’s, Jay formed a partnership with New Jersey based Metropolitan Entertainment. During this relationship in 1994 and 1995 the Stowe Summer Concert Series took place. The Grateful Dead played at Highgate Springs to the largest audience Vermont had ever seen to date. Over 60,000 people attended each event!
In July 2002, Jay sold his share of Pure Pop and embarked on a new adventure. He and his wife Lisa invested in the restaurant O. Lisa managed the restaurant while Jay played the role of sommelier, creating O’s wine list. The changing climate in the music industry in Vermont, ultimately lead Jay to explore other endeavors. Closing All Points Booking has run concurrently with an impressive start in a new industry. Jay’s mastery of promotion, organization and delivery as well as the ability to respond to the unexpected and a passion for customer service are a natural fit for Real Estate. “I really enjoy getting to know people and helping them to realize their dreams. It just involves putting all the pieces of a puzzle together to make them fit. That’s my job.”
Jay has been recognized as a Top 10 associate with Lang earning both Mt Mansfiled and the Summit Award for 2006, the Sterling Award and the Summit Award for 2005. Jay also earned Lang’s Rising Star Award as a rookie in 2004. Jay resides in Charlotte with his wife Lisa and their two sons. His interests also include: tennis, golf, skiing and a passion for food and wine.
